Marley Brown is the owner and director of Marley's Dance Effex Weyburn and Carlyle.
She is the proud mother to three beautiful children and has been happily married for twelve years.
Marley began dancing at the young age of three years old in Moose Jaw, Sk under the direction of Denise Maisonneuve ( Denee School of Dance) . Marley had many opportunities as a young dancer. She toured with Hoctor's Dance Caravan for two summers and assisted some of the industries best. She also attended a week long summer intensive in South Carolina and Detroit as a young dancer to name a few. She has attended several workshops and competitions and won numerous awards.
Marley loves to offer a wide range of fun and new opportunities to her students in this forever growing and changing dance world.
She has completed all of her C.D.T.A exams in jazz, tap and ballet, and is a licentiate member with C.D.T.A for tap and an associate member with jazz. She is also an accredited ADAPT instructor in jazz and tap.
Marley has a real passion for dance and loves to watch her dancers blossom into confident individuals. Her favourite styles of dance to teach are jazz, tap and lyrical and she absolutely loves teaching our Tiny Tot program.
When she’s not at the dance studio you can find Miss Marley at the lake, hockey rink, football field, baseball field or hunting and fishing with her husband and children.
Marley is looking forward to meeting all our new students, seeing the smiles on our returning students faces again and just ready to dance and enjoy everything dance has to offer!
Mackenzie is from Regina, Saskatchewan. She received her training at Class Act Studios in Regina training in jazz, ballet, pointe, lyrical, and contemporary under respected teachers, completing exams in the RAD and ADAPT syllabus. During her time in Regina Mackenzie had the opportunity to compete in various competitions and perform in productions with companies like Coastal City Ballet and Sterling Productions. In 2018 Mackenzie spent time training in Toronto with George Brown College affiliated with Jörgen Ballet. Since returning back to Saskatchewan in 2019 Mackenzie has taught at various studios and continues to dance at Collective Studios. Mackenzie has been assisting classes since 2015 and teaching since 2018. After the birth of her son in 2021 Mackenzie took a break from teaching but is excited to be back in a studio and to work with talented students.
Nevaeh is from Weyburn and has danced at Marley’s Dance Effects for 10 years, and counting. She loves all genres but her favourite are tap and hip hop. Nevaeh started sharing her passion of dance as a class helper when she was 12, which eventually led her to teaching her own classes. Growing up Nevaeh enjoyed attending dance workshops and conventions which made her an even stronger and confident dancer. Nevaeh has been recognized with multiple scholarships over the years of competition.
Outside of the studio you will find Nevaeh working at Legacy Park Early Learning Daycare and hanging out with friends and family. Nevaeh is excited to get back into the studio for another great year of dance!
Teresa has danced at Marleys Dance Effex since she was 3 years old! Since graduating high school this past year she has begun university at the u of r and is working towards a degree in business administration. Teresa gets to continue her dance career by dancing on the u of r dance team. She began teaching in 2020 and her passion for teaching has been growing ever since! Her favourite thing about teaching is getting to see her students develop and fall in love with dance more and more each class! Teresa’s favourite style of dance is lyrical or jazz but she loves them all!! She is so happy that she can continue to watch her students progress and be a part of the upcoming season!!!
